Astrophytum asterias - Star Cactus Type of Plant: Star cactus has become very rare in the wild due to over collecting and habitat destruction. A small solitary globular cactus from southern USA and Mexico, this is one of the most collectible species of cactus going with countless varieties being introduced all the time. |

Type of Plant: A. capricorne, though not as popular as A. asterias, is also very much collected worldwide. It has long curved spines and well defined ribs. |

Type of Plant: Astrophytum caput-medusae is a recently discovered species, named so due to its incredibly long tubercles. Unlike all other members of the Astrophytum genus, this plant has long branch-like tubercles with the areole at the tip where it flowers. |

Astrophytum myriostigma - Bishop's Cap Type of Plant: A. myriostigma is also a very hugely cultivated plant and grown in many different varieties. This species is probably one of the bigger species, some columnar specimens reaching over 1m in height. |

Coleus blumei - Painted Nettle Type of Plant: Coleus blumei is a standby for any nursery. It grows fast and adds instant color with hundreds of varieties. No need for flowers, the leaves are where it's at with this species. |

Dracaena sanderiana - Lucky Bamboo Type of Plant: Dracaena sanderiana, AKA lucky Bamboo, really is not at all a bamboo. Simply named for its slight resemblance to bamboo, this plant is useful for home decoration as it is very trainable and easy to propagate. Many people simply grow this plant in water, though ideally it should be given dirt at some point. |

Ficus elastica - Rubber Tree Type of Plant: Although named rubber tree, this plant is not actually used for rubber even though it does drip latex from cuts. This is a great foliage plant, suitable for indoors and out. In hot climates be careful as this plant gets massive! |

Kalanchoe delagoensis - Mother of Millions Type of Plant: Kalanchoe delagoensis gets its common name from having many little plants form around the margin of the leaf. It is quite an attractive plant, but is also an invasive weed in some areas and said to be poisonous to some animals. Should keep away from pets. |

Koelreuteria elegans - Chinese Raintree Type of Plant: This tropical tree is quite a lovely sight when in full flower. The entire tree lights up with yellow flowers followed by its surrounding leaves turning pink, red then brown. |

Lantana camara - Shrub Verbena Type of Plant: Lantana camara is a wonderful flowering plant that is amazing at attracting butterflies. It can be trained as topiary or let to grow as a massive bush. Public gardens often use this along roads as a hedge of flowers and for its ability to attract butterflies. |

Lavandula sp. - Lavender Type of Plant: Lavender is perhaps one of the most loved scented herbs among gardeners. It is pest resistant, easy to grow, not demanding in water and rarely needs fertilizer. To boot, it has one of the most relaxing and lovely of smells. |

Leonotis nepetifolia - Klip Dagga Type of Plant: Klip dagga is said to be used by some in Africa as a Marijuana substitute, which seems to be atopic of debate amongst western users. Either way it is a lovely looking plant with medium sized spiky balls of orange flowers. Very pretty ornamental reaching about 2m in height. |

Type of Plant: The monstrose variety of Lophocereus schottii is appropriately named "Totem Pole Cactus" for its bazaar aesthetic look. This is a columnar cactus growing to a few meters tall in time. |

Lophophora diffusa - Peyote Type of Plant: This globular spineless cactus is probably the largest of the genus, and still rarely attaining more than 20cm in size. This is closely related to the peyote of ceremony, Lophophora williamsii. |

Lophophora fricii - Peyote Type of Plant: Lophophora fricii, in our opinion, has some of the most aesthetic properties. Rib form is often more wavy and compact, flowers are often a lovely shade of pink, and they often form mats of plants, after a long time. |

Lophophora koehresii - Peyote Type of Plant: Lophophora koehresii is probably the smallest of all Lophophora. It is also the most frequent to flower, this plant will flower all teh time given warmth, light and nutrition! In fact we have had a single headed stem have up to 9 flowers open at the same time! |

Lophophora koehresii x L. fricii - Hybrid Type of Plant: Lophophora koehresii x L. fricii is a hybrid we created resulting in fairly L. fricii looking plants. Plants are fast growing and quite attractive. |

Type of Plant: This is without question the most confusing Lophophora around. It is easy to identify, and very consistent in morphology, the thing is no one knows where it came from. No wild populations have been found, leading to many theories of it being a hybrid. |

Lophophora williamsii - Peyote Type of Plant: Lophophora williamsii is the one true peyote in the westerners mind, meaning it is the one used in ceremonies for its mescaline content. This plant is a very attractive spineless cactus, not always solitary but sometimes. It has a very large taproot and is quite slow growing. |

Type of Plant: This Mammillaria has a very unusual cultivar named Fred. How simple. This cv is naked of spines and is very smoother and strange looking, the crested version only adds to this. |

Type of Plant: We mostly grow the cristate form of Mammillaria compressa which forms a long wavy snake like crest. It is a very compact cactus normally with great spination and skin color. |

The fruit are very yummy and sold at markets in Mexico and the cactus itself is a mainstay in cactus grafting stocks. |

Type of Plant: Neobuxbaumia polylopha is a large, somewhat slow growing columnar cactus. Its fine, many spines ribs reach up and make it a truly spectacular species. It is also very water tolerant, one of the few cactus that can grow without issue in Taiwan's rainy season. |

Type of Plant: Obregonia denegrii AKA Artichoke cactus, has short wide tubercles and grows in a globular manner. Not usually reaching more than 20cm in diameter this is a very slow growing Mexican cactus that is quite collectible amongst cactus enthusiasts. |

Type of Plant: Opuntia cochenillifera is used commercially to grow a type of insect used for dye. It is also edible for humans, though most people grow this to feed their turtles. The plant grows into a tree fairly fast and is spineless and usually without glochids. |

Type of Plant: Opuntia dillenii is used in Taiwan for wine, drinks and ice cream. It is also used a lot around coastlines that are likely conflict zones with China, as this cactus when fully grown is quite impenetrable on foot. |

Opuntia ficus-indica - Prickly Pear Type of Plant: Prickly Pear is often what you can find in the supermarket if you are near a place that grows it. The pads, or stems, are edible as a vegetable, but the glochids should be removed. The fruit is also used as both a table fruit and a colorant for juices. |

Type of Plant: Opuntia fragilis is a small low growing cactus, often found in very dry grassy areas growing under bushes and by grass clumps. This is one of the few cactus that is actually from Canada and is in fact where our plants originated. |

Type of Plant: Pelecyphora aselliformis is a slow growing endangered cactus from Mexico. The spines are somewhat elongated and the spines tiny. We currently also grow a crested form of this very rare plant. |

Plants range form 10-150cm in height, most are dense and heavily aromatic. In Taiwan a few of the varieties are used medicinally in similar fashion to Aloe vera. |

Salvia divinorum - Diviner's Sage Type of Plant: Salvia divinorum is a classic hallucinogen form Mexico, only recently approached by western folk. It can grow to 2-3m tall and is a easy to grow plant, but difficult to acclimate to new areas with small plants. Delicate, but vigorous. Lady Salvia has demands and she knows exactly what they are. |

Sansevieria trifasciata - Snake Plant Type of Plant: Snake Plants, or "Mother-in law's tongue", is a single "stemmed" plant that grows via rhizome. It is quite succulent and drought tolerant, not often growing over 1m in height. |

Schlumbergera sp. - Christmas Cactus Type of Plant: Christmas may very well be the most commonly grown cactus species, ironically pure species (not hybridized) are fairly rare. This cactus is easily grown indoors though more light is best. |

Synsepalum dulcificum - Miracle Fruit Type of Plant: Miracle fruit gains its name from its ability to turn sour and some bitter things sweet. When the fruit is eaten, things that you eat afterwards that are normal sour become sweet. This makes things like lemons, tomatoes, beer etc sweet! |

Tabernaemontana divaricata - Crepe Jasmines Type of Plant: Crepe Jasmine is a lovely ornamental plant with lots of white scented flowers. Flowers are most aromatic at night. The plant is also packed with alkaloids and is a promising plant for future medicine study. |

Type of Plant: Thelocactus setispinus is a smaller cactus with medium length hooked spines. The flowers are of medium size, yellow with a red throat. We are now also growing a variegated variety of Thelocactus setispinus. |

Type of Plant: Tradescantia pallida is similar to T. zebrina but the leaves are thicker and longer, and the color is a far more intense purple when in good light. If you want a dark purple in your situation, this is it. |

Tradescantia zebrina - Wandering Jew Type of Plant: Tradescantia zebrina is a low growing sprawling vine that is naturally white and green in the leaf. In darker situations it becomes greener, in brighter conditions if becomes quite purple and very attractive. |
