Description

Size & Growth Habit

This grows as a small perennial shrub. They are fern like in appearance and may reach a couple meters in height.

Leaves

Leaves are grouped together on the stem, alternate. They appear almost fern like in their appearance.

Cultivation

By Seed

Germinates very well when soaked overnight in water then sowed into a moist soil.

By Cutting

Does not seem to take well with cuttings.

Soil

Not too picky, and grows in many kinds of soils. These are extreme nitrogen fixers.

Water

Fairly drought tolerant, and can take heavy rains as well. Should avoid truly DRY or truly WET substrates, anything in between is excellent!

Feeding

Grown in the ground, feeding is not needed. You may wish to give them some compost, manure or the odd shot of whatever fertilizer you have handy.

Light

Prefers full sun out in the open, does not tolerate much shade.

Pruning

Not needed, but can be done. Do as you see fit, it will grow back bushier.

Climate

Grows in most climates, and is native to the lower 48 area of the USA. This means it takes cold temperatures and hot temperatures well.
