This 4 volume set was THE authorotive say on the cactus family. It is a little outdated now, being published in 1919, but is still quite a fascinating reference book and some things still hold true.

The genus Lophophora ¡V Kaktusy Special 2, 2005: A Review

This very special Kaktusy edition revisted the Lophophora genus and arranged the genus into 2 sections, and giving them 4 species. For many years collectors discussed the possibility of Lophophora being 4 species, or perhaps at least having 2 sub-species (L. fricii and L. koehresii).
